Laneway or Carriage - A Modern Backyard Home

This large Carriage Home, also known as Laneway Home holds an 887 sq.ft. suite on top of a Triple Car Garage. The clients for this project reached out to us to help them build a backyard legal suite for their elderly family members. It was a way to give them their own private space and home, but keep them close by. This large lot has a rear lane entrance and lots of square footage to fit this large two bedroom Carriage Home. It features a large kitchen and island with comfortable seating for three people, dining area, living room, two bedrooms, a powder room and a large ensuite with walk-in shower.
This modern home was built by connecting to services from the main home, allowing for quick connection and usage by the new tenants.
This home was a finalist for Best New Home in the BILD Calgary Regions Awards in 2021.
